Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is unchanged from last week at 549 with oil rigs down 2 to 422, gas rigs up 1 to 118 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 9. The U.S. Rig Count is down 36 rigs from last year’s count of 585 with oil rigs down 57, gas rigs up 16 and miscellaneous up 5. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 1 to 15, down 3 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is unchanged from last week at 190, with oil rigs unchanged at 129, gas rigs unchanged at 60 and miscellaneous unchanged at 1. The Canada Rig Count is down 33 from last year’s count of 223 with oil rigs down 28, gas rigs down 3 and miscellaneous rigs down 2.
