Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 6 from last week to 542 with oil rigs down 8 to 406, gas rigs unchanged at 127 and miscellaneous rigs up 2 to 9. The U.S. Rig Count is down 47 rigs from last year’s count of 589 with oil rigs down 77, gas rigs up 25 and miscellaneous up 5. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 2 to 15, up 1 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is down 7 from last week to 185, with oil rigs down 4 to 119, gas rigs down 3 to 66 and miscellaneous unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is up 19 from last year’s count of 166 with oil rigs up 9, gas rigs up 10 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
