Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 4 from last week to 559 with oil rigs down 9 to 442, gas rigs up 5 to 114 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 3. The U.S. Rig Count is down 35 rigs from last year’s count of 594 with oil rigs down 50, gas rigs up 16 and miscellaneous down 1. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 13, down 9 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 2 from last week to 114, with oil rigs unchanged at 69, gas rigs up 2 to 46 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 29 from last year’s count of 143 with oil rigs down 20, gas rigs down 9 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
