Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 4 from last week to 546 with oil rigs down 6 to 414, gas rigs up 4 to 125 and miscellaneous rigs down 2 to 7. The U.S. Rig Count is down 39 rigs from last year’s count of 585 with oil rigs down 65, gas rigs up 23 and miscellaneous up 3. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 2 to 19, up 3 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is down 12 from last week to 187, with oil rigs down 11 to 127, gas rigs down 1 to 60 and miscellaneous unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 26 from last year’s count of 213 with oil rigs down 19, gas rigs down 7 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
