Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 2 from last week to 544 with oil rigs down 3 to 409, gas rigs down 1 to 124 and miscellaneous rigs up 2 to 11. The U.S. Rig Count is down 40 rigs from last year’s count of 584 with oil rigs down 71, gas rigs up 24 and miscellaneous up 7. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 16, up 2 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 96 from last week to 197 with oil rigs up 79 to 128, gas rigs up 17 to 69 and miscellaneous unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 19 from last year’s count of 216 with oil rigs down 16, gas rigs down 3 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
