Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 2 from last week to 543 with oil rigs down 1 to 410, gas rigs down 2 to 125 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 8. The U.S. Rig Count is down 42 rigs from last year’s count of 585 with oil rigs down 63, gas rigs up 19 and miscellaneous rigs up 2. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 2 to 12, down 1 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is down 5 from last week to 130 with oil rigs down 6 to 77, gas rigs up 1 to 53 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 4 from last year’s count of 134 with oil rigs down 10, gas rigs up 6 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
