Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 1 from last week to 554 with oil rigs down 1 to 438, gas rigs down 2 to 111 and miscellaneous rigs up 2 to 5. The U.S. Rig Count is down 34 rigs from last year’s count of 588 with oil rigs down 47, gas rigs up 13 and miscellaneous unchanged. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 4 to 14, down 7 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 1 from last week to 139, with oil rigs up 2 to 93, gas rigs down 1 to 46 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 27 from last year’s count of 166 with oil rigs down 16, gas rigs down 11 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
