Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is down 1 from last week to 543 with oil rigs up 1 to 410, gas rigs down 2 to 122 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 11. The U.S. Rig Count is down 37 rigs from last year’s count of 580 with oil rigs down 68, gas rigs up 24 and miscellaneous up 7. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 16, up 2 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 29 from last week to 226 with oil rigs up 22 to 150, gas rigs up 7 to 76 and miscellaneous unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 3 from last year’s count of 229 with oil rigs down 6, gas rigs up 3 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
