B. Riley analyst Yuan Zhi reiterates a Buy rating on Mirion (MIR) amid concerns regarding DeepSeek. Over the weekend, reported said China’s DeepSeek costs 97% less but outperforms OpenAI, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm says the investment community suddenly questioned whether we have an oversupply of Nvidia (NVDA) chips. With improved efficiency and more computing power available, U.S.-made artificial intelligence could improve current AI to another level, contends B. Riley. It views lower cost and higher function as an important inflection point for broader AI adoption. The training cost of DeepSeek might be lower, but DeepSeek will not stop at a V3 or R1 version, just like U.S.-made ChatGPT and LLaMa will continue to evolve, the firm adds. Riley remains bullish on nuclear energy development, which it expects to ultimately benefit service and product providers, such as Mirion.
