Seaport Research downgraded Avient (AVNT) to Neutral from Buy ahead of earnings. End-market demand remains mixed, notes the analyst, who has “a sense” that the outlook for Q3 and the second half deteriorated following Q2 earnings season, with particular weakening in automotive and industrial markets. The firm expects companies in the chemicals group to remain conservative on the outlook, with any pickup in demand still to come, the analyst added.
