AT&T seeking over $2B for Mexico Mobile unit, Bloomberg reports

AT&T is working with advisers to sell its Mexico unit, people familiar with the matter said, after struggling for more than a decade to gain ground on billionaire Carlos Slim’s dominant carrier in the country, Bloomberg’s Michael O’Boyle, Michelle F Davis, and Todd Gillespie report. AT&T is seeking more than $2B for the business, according to the people. There is no guarantee that AT&T will be able to find a buyer for the unit, the authors note. The Mexican mobile market is dominated by Telcel, part of the America Movil SAB group that’s controlled by Slim and his family.
