Big tech companies are preparing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on AI infrastructure, with most of their plans dependent on ASML (ASML), the world’s only supplier of complex machines needed to make cutting edge chips at scale, Kim Mackrael of The Wall Street Journal reports. Microsoft (MSFT), Meta Platforms (META), Amazon (AMZN) and Alphabet’s (GOOG) Google (GOOGL) intend more than $600B in capital spending this year as they build out AI infrastructure. This has spurred chip makers, such as TSMC (TSM), to accelerate investments, fueling even more demand for ASML.
