Shares of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), which produces high-fructose corn syrup, a sweetener used in Coca-Cola (KO) products in the United States, are down 1% to $53.41 in after-hours trading after President Trump announced on social media that Coke agreed to use real cane sugar in the U.S. “”I have been speaking to Coca-Cola about using REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States, and they have agreed to do so. I’d like to thank all of those in authority at Coca-Cola. This will be a very good move by them – You’ll see. It’s just better,” Trump said. Shares of Coca-Cola (KO) are down 6c to $69.21 following the comment.
