Apple (AAPL) engineers are ramping up work on smart glasses to rival Meta Platforms’ (META) popular Ray-Bans in a bid to meet a year-end 2026 target as part of a push into AI-enhanced gadgets, people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. However, Apple has shelved plans for a smartwatch that can analyze its surroundings with a built-in camera, the report added.
