Apple paying about $140M a year in rights deal with F1, FT reports

After Apple (AAPL) confirmed that the company has agreed on a five-year partnership and will begin broadcasting Formula 1 races in the U.S. in 2026, replacing Disney-owned (DIS) broadcaster ESPN, a person with knowledge of the matter told Financial Times’ Samuel Agini the deal cost $700M, or about $140M a year, which is a significant increase from the $85M per year paid by ESPN.
