Apollo Global (APO) is considering taking a substantial stake in a bid by Seven & i’s (SVNDF) founding family to take the store operator private, Hideki Suzuki and Taro Fuse of Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the matter. Apollo is discussing a commitment as much as Y1.5 trillion, or $9.5B, for an equity stake in the plan, Bloomberg’s sources added. Under the current proposal, Apollo would join the Ito family, Seven & i’s founding family, and Itochu as key investors.
