Passengers on an American Airlines (AAL) flight were evacuated on to the tarmac of an airport in Denver, Colorado after a fire broke out on the plane, The Associated Press reports. There were no reports of serious injuries, although the airport later confirmed 12 people were taken to hospital for minor injuries. Flight 1006, which was headed from the Colorado Springs Airport to Dallas Fort Worth, but while taxiing to the gate, an engine on the Boeing (BA) 737-800 caught fire, according to the report.
