AMC Entertainment saw 4.4M moviegoers at its theaters this weekend

AMC Entertainment (AMC) welcomed audiences numbering in the millions to its theatres across the U.S. and internationally this weekend. These reported opening numbers for The Devil Wears Prada 2 include Friday through Sunday attendance figures, along with its Thursday preview screenings. As a result of the film’s media-reported $233 million global debut, combined with continued strength from recent releases, more than 4.4 million moviegoers attended films at AMC locations in the United States and at ODEON Cinemas internationally from Thursday, April 30, through Sunday, May 3. “This strong start to the summer moviegoing season further underscores the continued momentum at the box office in 2026,” the company said. With a reported domestic haul of $77 million, including Thursday preview shows, The Devil Wears Prada 2 becomes the fifth title in 2026 to open to at least $60 million domestically; it’s the fourth movie to open with at least a $75 million domestic gross in just the past seven weeks
