Amazon is issuing refunds for some returns as far back as 2018, along with apologies from the online retailer after it discovered “unresolved” issues, Bloomberg’s Spencer Soper reports. CFO Brian Olsavsky said on May 1 that Amazon took a roughly $1.1B charge over “some historical customer returns.” An Amazon spokesperson acknowledged that refunds are being sent to customers but declined to specify how many or the overall cost.
