Amazon is lobbying the Indian government to ease its foreign investment rules, Aditya Kalra and Aftab Ahmed of Reuters reports, citing four people with knowledge of the matter. The company wants to buy products directly from Indian sellers to sell in markets overseas. The country currently prohibits companies from stocking and selling goods to consumers, allowing them to operate as an e-commerce marketplace only.
