Amazon (AMZN) is debating on making another multibillion-dollar investment in Anthropic, Rafe Uddin, Cristina Criddle, and George Hammond of The Financial Times reports. The company has discussed plans to extend beyond the $8B it has already invested in the AI model builder, multiple people with knowledge of the talks told the Times. The investment would ensure Amazon remains on of Anthropic’s largest shareholders while providing a bulwark against a similar multibillion dollar partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft (MSFT).
