In a video posted by China’s state broadcaster CCTV, Alibaba (BABA) announced the signing of a contract with China Unicom, the country’s second largest wireless carrier, to deploy its Pingtouge artificial intelligence accelerators. The chips will go into China Unicom’s new data center in northwestern China. Shares of Alibaba are up 2% to $166.07 in premarket trading.
