China on Wednesday unveiled rules banning major platforms like Alibaba (BABA) and JD.com (JD) from coercing merchants into discounts or practices seen as disrupting market order, Bloomberg’s Luz Ding and Jeanny Yu report. The guidelines, which will take effect in February, also bar online influencers from making false claims and require platforms to protect consumers and user data.
