Stifel analyst Thomas Stephan lowered the firm’s price target on Alcon (ALC) to $90 from $100 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. Alcon missed on the top-line again in Q2, as the firm anticipated, and management cut 2025 constant currency sales growth guidance meaningfully, though EPS guidance was maintained. The second half appears better de-risked and management’s positive tone on UNITY remains largely intact, so the firm would “tend to view this print (and guidance cut) as a clearing event of sorts,” the analyst tells investors.
