Airbus (EADSY) is restricting takeoff of certain aircraft in cold weather conditions that are powered by Pratt & Whitney engines, Leen Al-Rashdan of Bloomberg reports. The company informed airlines of modifications on existing procedures for engine operators on the ground in icing conditions, with a restriction for takeoff for planes with the Pratt & Whitney engines in weather conditions with freezing fog and visibility of less than 150 meters. The restrictions specifically impact single-aisle A320 aircraft using the PW1100 GTF engine.
