After an Air India Flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed soon after takeoff, Jefferies notes the 787’s “strong safety record,” pointing out that the crash represents the first fatal accident involving a Boeing (BA) 787 since the type entered service in September 2011 and highlighting that Boeing has delivered 1,189 787s since inception. The largest 787 operators include ANA, United (UAL), American (AAL), Qatar, and Japan Airlines, while the largest 787-8 operators include American, ANA, Qatar, Air India and Japan Airlines, the analyst indicated. Jefferies has a Buy rating and $250 price target on Boeing shares.
