INSTANT CHECKOUT: OpenAI announced, “More than 700 million people turn to ChatGPT each week for help with everyday tasks, including finding products they love. Starting today, we’re taking the first steps toward ChatGPT helping people buy them too – beginning with Instant Checkout, powered by the Agentic Commerce Protocol, built with Stripe. U.S. ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Free users can now buy directly from U.S. Etsy (ETSY) sellers right in chat, with over a million Shopify (SHOP) merchants, like Glossier, SKIMS, Spanx and Vuori, coming soon. Today, Instant Checkout supports single-item purchases. Next, we’ll add multi-item carts and expand merchants and regions. We’re also open sourcing the technology that powers Instant Checkout, the Agentic Commerce Protocol, so that more merchants and developers can begin building their integrations.”
SHORT REZOLVE AI: Fuzzy Panda Research is short Rezolve AI (RZLV) as it believes the company is “faking” annual recuring revenue by acquiring failing AI start-ups with declining revenue. In a recently published report, it also states that Microsoft (MSFT) and Google (GOOGL) agreement are “NOT True Partnerships.” Fuzzy Panda also believes “a Russell 2000 Index removal could be very likely.”
AI COLLAB: The president of the United Arab Emirate Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has met with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in Abu Dhabi, with discussions focused on strengthening the cooperation between OpenAI and its counterparts in the UAE, particularly in the field of AI research and its practical applications, Reuters reports.
PARENT CONTROLS: Microsoft-backed OpenAI said that it is rolling out parental controls and a new parent resource page to help families guide how ChatGPT works in their homes. Available to all ChatGPT users starting Monday, parental controls allow parents to link their account with their teen’s account and customize settings for a safe, age-appropriate experience. “This work is part of our ongoing effort to make ChatGPT helpful for everyone, and to give families tools to support their teens’ use of AI,” the company said. “We’ve previously shared that we’re building toward a long-term age prediction system that will help us predict whether a user is under 18 so that ChatGPT can automatically apply teen-appropriate settings. Parental controls are an important step in giving parents the ability to control their teen’s experience with ChatGPT. We’ve worked closely with experts, advocacy groups including Common Sense Media, and policymakers, including the Attorneys General of California and Delaware, to help inform our approach, and expect to refine and expand on these controls over time.”
