Confident Investing Starts Here:

AI VOICE ASSISTANT: Apple (AAPL) is struggling to deliver upgrades to its AI voice assistant for the iPhone, with the company facing challenges with updating the software, Michael Acton of The Financial Times reports, citing recently departed employees. Apple has been attempting to build its own language learning models over the machine learning technology currently powering Siri, but the process of integrating such has led to bugs.

AI BILL: U. The U.K. has delayed proposals to regulate AI, with plans to introduce an AI bill in 2026 to address concerns about issues like safety and copyright, The Guardian’s Eleni Courea and Kiran Stacey report. The U.K. had originally planned to introduce a short, narrowly drafted AI bill within months of entering office that would have been focused on large language models, such as ChatGPT, which would have required companies to hand over their models for testing by the U.K.’s AI Security Institute.

SCALE AI: Meta Platforms (META) is in discussions to potentially make a more than $10B investment in AI startup Scale AI, David Carnevali, Shirin Ghaffary, Katie Roof, and Kurt Wagner of Bloomberg report, citing people familiar with the matter. This would make it one of the largest private company funding events of all time. The terms of the deal have not been finalized and could still be changed, the sources added.

AI INNOVATION: Amazon (AMZN) announced plans to invest at least $20B in Pennsylvania to expand data center infrastructure to support artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies. Salem Township and Falls Township are the first communities identified as sites for these future innovation campuses. Multiple additional Pennsylvania communities are under consideration. This landmark investment is expected to create at least 1,250 new high-skilled jobs while supporting thousands of other jobs in the Amazon Web Services data center supply chain. The new highly skilled jobs will range from data center engineers and network specialists, to engineering operations managers, security specialists, and many more technical roles. In addition to these direct positions, this planned investment is expected to support thousands of local construction jobs and positions in the data center supply chain, as well as other jobs in the local community.
