Hedge fund Toms Capital Investment, run by Ben Pass, held 5.6M shares of CSX (CSX) common stock as of June 30 and has requested to meet with the board after recently buying the stake, people familiar with the matter told Reuters’ Svea Herbst-Bayliss. The stake and meeting request raises speculation that the activist firm may push for a possible merger, the report added.
