Stifel lowered the firm’s price target on A.O. Smith (AOS) to $84 from $90 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. Q4 results were “underwhelming,” with revenue and EPS below consensus and guidance, while guidance was also below expectations, notes the analyst. However, while demand is soft, the valuation is at “historically low levels” and while “it doesn’t feel great,” the firm believes “this is a buying opportunity,” the analyst added.
