$1B worth of Nvidia AI chips smuggled to China after export controls, FT says

In the three months after U.S. President Donald Trump increased chip export controls, at least $1B worth of Nvidia’s (NVDA) advanced AI processors were smuggled into China, Zijing Wu and Eleanor Olcott of The Financial Times reports. This demonstrates the limits of Washington’s efforts to restrain China’s access to chips. Nvidia’s B200 has become the most sought-after and widely available chip in China’s black market, the Times reports, citing dozens of sales contracts, company filings, and people with direct knowledge of the details.
