Tesla’s New FSD Software Earns Solid Praise from Drivers and Competitors

EV maker Tesla’s (TSLA) latest Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software, version 14.2.2, has received praise from owners for delivering a smoother and more confident performance. More specifically, drivers mentioned improvements like quicker, hesitation-free lane changes and better overall decision-making. The update, which began rolling out on Monday, also includes features such as dynamic arrival pin adjustment. Early users report that the driving experience feels especially refined, even on winding roads or at night.

As a result, several experienced Tesla owners have shared positive impressions online. For instance, one longtime user, @BLKMDL3, described his 10-hour test by saying there was “zero lane change hesitation” and “extremely refined” lane selections, even in dark canyon drives. He also highlighted the excellent parking accuracy in tough spots like ticket booths.

However, this praise around FSD v14.2.2 isn’t limited to Tesla owners. Indeed, even competitors are impressed. Xpeng (XPEV) CEO He Xiaopeng recently said that FSD has made major strides and is now a “near-Level 4” experience. Moreover, he thinks that Tesla’s approach of using the same software and hardware for private vehicles and robotaxis is the right way to go.
