Bad news for electric car enthusiasts, as legacy automaker Stellantis (STLA) looks to delay production on the 2026 base model Dodge Charger Daytona. The car, which was set to be made in Windsor, Ontario, is getting delayed for the usual reason these days: the tariffs. Regardless of the reason, shareholders did not take the news well and sent shares sliding nearly 4% in Friday afternoon’s trading.

The Dodge Charger Daytona, reports note, is the only model that would be delayed. Other versions will be in play, including other versions at the Windsor plant. Further, no jobs will be lost or otherwise impacted as a result, making this a comparatively minor move. It was still a concerning matter, particularly for those who remember the idling of minivan production at the plant just after the first round of tariffs showed up.
The Dodge Charger is said to be a pretty big deal for Stellantis, as its release—along with its “flexible platform”—will allow Stellantis to not only focus on the upcoming release of the Charger Daytona Scat Pack, but also get together a four-door model for 2026. Several other models are also slated to come out before the end of 2025, and the Charger will apparently have at least something to do with those as well.
A Voice Actor Back from the Dead
Then Stellantis did something that will likely have artists everywhere recoiling in horror. Stellantis ads once featured a voice actor named Kevin Yon, who passed away in 2018. Yet somehow, Yon’s voice was back in play to create a new ad called “America Made Us,” specially made for the upcoming America250 celebration, the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The “somehow,” of course, is largely what has the art community concerned: artificial intelligence. Well, a combination of Yon’s previous clips backed up by artificial intelligence to fill in the gaps, that is. The project had Yon’s family’s blessing, however, which should at least partially mollify the arts community. The commercial itself, meanwhile, features iconic Stellantis properties from the Chrysler 300 to the Willys MB, as well as the first Hemi engine, the Chrysler Firepower.
Is Stellantis Stock a Good Buy Right Now?
Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on STLA stock based on four Buys, 12 Holds, and one Sell assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 53.61% loss in its share price over the past year, the average STLA price target of $11.75 per share implies 17.74% upside potential.
