Stellantis (STLA) has announced a recall for 82,000 Citroen C3 and DS3 vehicles that have faulty Takata airbags. These vehicles were sold in France and include models sold between 2014 and 2019. The stop-drive recall has the company seeking the removal of these vehicles from roads until repairs are made.

This latest recall was triggered by a fatal crash on June 11. A French woman was killed after suffering injuries from the Takata airbag in a 2014 Citroen C3. The French transport ministry has also called for all affected vehicles to be taken off the road.
These latest recalls will add to the number of vehicles with Takata airbags that Stellantis has had to replace. Currently, 481,000 vehicles in the country have been repaired out of a total of 690,000. If all of the vehicles in the Citroen C3 and DS3 have their airbags replaced, that number would grow to 563,000.
Stellantis 2025 Recalls
Stellantis has issued several recalls in 2025 as issues have plagued its vehicles. That includes:
- 235,640 Ram ProMaster vans with faulty rearview camera systems.
- 48,494 Alfa Romeo and Dodge SUVs that suffered the same issue with their cameras.
- 33,777 Ram 1500 trucks with headlight failure issues.
- 10,396 Ram 1500 pickup trucks with tire pressure monitor errors.
With no shortage of recalls this year, customers may be growing frustrated with Stellantis. That’s doubly true with a fatal accident as the source of its latest recall. This could lower public opinion of the company and affect sales.
