Roblox (RBLX) stock was down on Tuesday after the video game company announced updates to its safety standards to better protect children who use its gaming platform. The company now requires facial age checks to allow users to enter chats. It will also place users of similar ages together in chats to limit interactions between minors and adults. However, there will be options to add trusted connections to allow family members of varying ages to play together.

Stephen Balkam, CEO of the Family Online Safety Institute, said, “Proactive tools like age estimation are key to building a safer and more positive digital world for kids and teens. Roblox’s risk-based approach to features like voice chat sets a strong example of responsible innovation.”
Roblox has dedicated itself to beefing up its protection of minors following several complaints against the company. This includes allegations it hasn’t done enough to protect its younger users from predators. There have even been lawsuits filed against the company over these claims, including one from Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill.
Roblox Stock Movement Today
Roblox stock was down 0.2% on Tuesday but remained up 74.68% year-to-date. The stock has also rallied 93.86% over the past 12 months. Despite the controversy surrounding its mixed-age audience, the game has continued to see strong growth this year, with some 151.5 million daily active users reported in Q3 2025.

Turning to Wall Street, the analysts’ consensus rating for Roblox is Moderate Buy, based on 16 Buy ratings, six Hold ratings, and a single Sell rating over the past three months. With that comes an average RBLX stock price target of $151.70, representing a potential 50.71% upside for the shares.
