Robinhood Sees Strong Potential in Indonesia
Indonesia has become a major center for retail investing. The country now has more than 19 million capital market investors and about 17 million crypto traders. Supportive rules and strong interest from younger users have made it one of Asia’s most active markets.
Robinhood said the country fits well with its mission to open financial access to more people. Patrick Chan, Robinhood’s Head of Asia, called Indonesia “a fast-growing market for trading” and an important step for the company. Buying a local brokerage helps Robinhood meet entry rules faster, while the crypto trader gives it direct access to digital asset customers.
Robinhood Extends Its Global Reach
The company did not disclose the deal price but said Pieter Tanuri, the majority owner of both Indonesian firms, will stay on as a strategic adviser. The move reflects Robinhood’s growing interest in overseas markets after building a strong base in the United States.
Robinhood has also been adding new products this year. The company gained more visibility after joining the S&P 500 (SPX) index and announcing its plan to enter prediction markets earlier in 2025.
HOOD stock has surged nearly 254% so far this year, helped by strong trading activity, better profits, and rising investor interest. The Indonesia deal adds another growth opportunity for 2026, as Robinhood prepares to offer both stock and crypto trading in one of Southeast Asia’s most active markets.
