Donald Fandetti has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors, primarily focusing on TRTX’s liquidity position, lower leverage, and the potential for capital recycling from real estate owned (REO) assets. These elements are poised to enhance the company’s earnings run-rate, which could render current estimates overly conservative.
Moreover, TRTX has adopted a more proactive investment approach for 2025, which is expected to contribute positively to its financial performance. Despite a higher provision in the fourth quarter due to macroeconomic considerations, the company’s stock is trading at an attractive valuation with a price-to-book ratio of 0.73x and offers a substantial dividend yield of 11.6%, reinforcing the Overweight rating.
In another report released yesterday, JMP Securities also maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $10.00 price target.
TRTX’s price has also changed slightly for the past six months – from $8.530 to $8.260, which is a -3.17% drop .
