Inhibikase Therapeutics: Phase 3 IKT-001 PAH Program and De-Risked Imatinib-Based Efficacy Drive Buy Rating and $8 Target

Analyst Ram Selvaraju from H.C. Wainwright reiterated a Buy rating on Inhibikase Therapeutics and keeping the price target at $8.00.

Ram Selvaraju has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors related to Inhibikase Therapeutics’ lead asset and clinical strategy. He highlights that IKT-001, a prodrug of imatinib, has now entered a global registrational Phase 3 trial for pulmonary arterial hypertension, with the IMPROVE-PAH study already initiated and first patient enrolled in the U.S., using an adaptive, two-part design to optimize dose, maintain continuous enrollment, and allow sample size adjustments.

Selvaraju also points to historical imatinib data showing robust improvements in pulmonary vascular resistance and six-minute walk distance, arguing that IKT-001 is designed to capture these efficacy benefits while reducing gastrointestinal side effects and improving tolerability. His valuation, based on a DCF model with a 10% discount rate, a 2% terminal decline rate, and a relatively high 70% probability of approval in PAH, supports an $8 price target, though he acknowledges clinical, regulatory, competitive, and financing risks that investors should monitor.

In another report released yesterday, Bank of America Securities also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $6.00 price target.
