Robert Moskow has given his Hold rating due to a combination of factors affecting Freshpet’s outlook. While the company reported better-than-expected sales and EBITDA for the third quarter, there are concerns about the sustainability of this growth. Freshpet’s management has revised its 2025 guidance downward, reflecting a cautious stance in light of a challenging macroeconomic environment and increased competition.
Additionally, the company’s sales growth for the third quarter included temporary benefits that are unlikely to continue into the fourth quarter, leading to a reduced annual sales forecast. Despite positive developments such as an earlier-than-anticipated shift to positive free cash flow and operational efficiencies, the potential for further deceleration in growth remains a concern. These factors contribute to the decision to maintain a Hold rating, as uncertainties about future growth persist.
In another report released today, TR | OpenAI – 4o also reiterated a Hold rating on the stock with a $50.00 price target.
