Balancing Near-Term Softness With Structural LNG Growth: Reaffirming Buy on Strong Project Pipeline and Margin Upside

Jean Ann Salisbury has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors that balance near‑term guidance softness with strong structural growth. While 4Q25 results and the FY26 outlook showed slightly weaker EBITDA and cargo volumes than prior BofA estimates, the assets continue to operate broadly in line with expectations and still point to Plaquemines running materially above nameplate capacity.

She also highlights the attractive long‑term project pipeline, with Plaquemines and CP2 expected to support roughly 31MTPA of LNG capacity and additional bolt‑on expansions under way despite higher CP2 capex. New long‑term and shorter‑term offtake contracts, together with tightening global LNG markets driven by recent geopolitical disruptions, support higher margin assumptions, which in turn justify the increased $13 price objective and underpin the reaffirmed Buy recommendation.

Based on the recent corporate insider activity of 28 insiders, corporate insider sentiment is negative on the stock. This means that over the past quarter there has been an increase of insiders selling their shares of VG in relation to earlier this year.
