Analyst Reiterates Buy on Nasdaq, Citing Resilient Options Growth and Cyclical Nature of Volume Weakness

William Blair analyst Jeff Schmitt has maintained their bullish stance on NDAQ stock, giving a Buy rating on April 24.

Jeff Schmitt has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors related to Nasdaq’s trading activity and structural positioning. He notes that, despite a tougher backdrop as market volatility normalizes after the ceasefire and tariff-related turbulence, U.S. equity options at Nasdaq still grew volumes by 10% year-over-year, supported by lasting drivers such as rising retail participation and product innovation like new sub-weekly single-stock expirations.

At the same time, Schmitt views the pressure in cash equities and European derivatives volumes as cyclical rather than structural, with declines largely reflecting unusually strong comparisons from last year’s volatility spike. He highlights that Nasdaq is maintaining solid options market share and remains well placed to benefit when overall trading activity improves, supporting his positive stance on the stock.

According to TipRanks, Schmitt is a 4-star analyst with an average return of 7.9% and a 54.05% success rate. Schmitt covers the Financial sector, focusing on stocks such as Tradeweb Markets, Nasdaq, and Charles Schwab.

In another report released on April 24, Barclays also maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $114.00 price target.
