Zocdoc has entered a strategic integration with Yelp that allows users to move directly from searching for healthcare providers on Yelp to booking appointments through Zocdoc’s infrastructure. The partnership turns Yelp’s millions of weekly health-related queries into actionable demand by embedding real-time, in-network scheduling on provider pages within Yelp’s iOS app and via Yelp Assistant, its AI-driven chatbot.
The collaboration underscores Zocdoc’s shift from a standalone marketplace to a broader healthcare access platform that embeds its scheduling stack wherever patients initiate their search for care. For clinicians and health systems, the integration channels high-intent Yelp traffic into confirmed visits without adding new workflows, as bookings are managed through existing EHR systems or Zocdoc’s tools, helping fill unused capacity and attract incremental patients.
Zocdoc CEO Oliver Kharraz framed the move as an effort to eliminate the transactional bottleneck at the start of the care journey by making booking a doctor “as easy as booking dinner,” with typical appointments on its network occurring within 24 to 72 hours. Yelp’s product leadership emphasized that the integration connects consumers with in-network providers at the moment of decision, potentially improving patient acquisition efficiency for providers and strengthening Yelp’s position as a utility for local health discovery.
The booking feature is currently live on iOS for provider business pages and within Yelp Assistant, with plans to expand appointment booking on business pages to Android and desktop later this year and to launch booking in Yelp Assistant on Android as well. By scaling its scheduling capabilities across third-party platforms like Yelp and tying into multiple insurance plans, practice management systems, and EHRs, Zocdoc is positioning itself as core healthcare access infrastructure and a demand-generation engine for providers of varying sizes.
