Zapier has released a new research report, “The Future of AI Transformation in 2026,” positioning its AI orchestration platform at the center of a rapid shift from fragmented AI pilots to fully governed, enterprise-wide AI systems. Based on a survey of 200 senior technology leaders across North America and Europe—most from organizations with more than 5,000 employees—the report finds that AI is evolving into a core operating layer: 25% of respondents expect to reach full-scale AI orchestration this year, using AI as connective tissue across tools, teams, and workflows, while 43% anticipate adopting agentic AI models that operate with limited human intervention. This transition is reshaping workforce structures, with 65% planning to hire AI Automation Specialists and 64% planning to add AI Platform Engineers to support orchestration infrastructure, and nearly half of leaders intending to tie compensation and promotion decisions to employees’ ability to work effectively and responsibly with AI systems—directly expanding the addressable market for Zapier’s platform and services.
For Zapier, the most commercially relevant findings highlight a tightening focus on governance, ROI, and internal proof points—areas where orchestration platforms are critical. While 71% of leaders cite human-in-the-loop approvals as their top governance priority and remain cautious about fully automating sensitive HR or strategic budgeting decisions, 40% are comfortable assigning AI to internal, rules-based workflows such as security and identity management, use cases well suited to structured automation. The report shows executives moving away from open-ended proof-of-concept experimentation: 84% expect to have clear AI ROI by 2026 and are prioritizing measurable productivity gains (54%) and validated cost savings (22%) as triggers for further investment. Zapier’s leadership frames the opportunity as helping enterprises convert scattered AI experiments into managed, auditable processes through orchestration, training, and context management, reinforcing Zapier’s strategic positioning as enterprises standardize on platforms that can connect thousands of applications, enforce governance, and scale AI-driven workflows across the organization.
