Zanskar has signed a Geothermal Exploration, Offtake and Development Engagement (GEODE) Agreement with California Community Power, positioning its AI-native geothermal discovery platform at the center of California’s push for firm clean energy. Under the agreement, Zanskar will use its proprietary prospecting toolkit to identify new utility-scale geothermal resources within the California ISO territory, while CC Power and its member agencies gain structured options to support project development and secure offtake from Zanskar’s greenfield plants.
The deal effectively extends Zanskar’s multi-gigawatt geothermal project pipeline into one of the largest U.S. power markets, aligning the company with California’s 2045 100% clean energy target and growing demand for round-the-clock baseload capacity amid grid stress and electrification. Building on its track record at Lightning Dock in New Mexico and blind discoveries at Pumpernickel and Big Blind in Nevada, Zanskar aims to replicate its repeatable exploration and development model to unlock incremental geothermal capacity in California, with potential long-term implications for asset ownership, recurring revenue, and regional grid reliability.
