WorkFusion, a UiPath company specializing in AI agents for financial crime compliance, has received the 2026 FinTech Breakthrough “AML Solution of the Year” award for its Tara Transaction Screening Alert AI Agent. The recognition underscores WorkFusion’s positioning in the RegTech and AML market as banks face rising sanctions scrutiny, complex global payment formats, and pressure to reduce compliance costs.

Tara automates the disposition of payment sanctions alerts by replicating the reasoning of experienced sanctions analysts, rapidly distinguishing true matches from false positives across alerts related to terrorism, human rights abuses, cybercrime, and other risks. By documenting every decision with clear rationale, the system supports transparency and auditability, enabling banks to move from reactive, labor-intensive AML screening to more proactive, regulation-ready operations.

WorkFusion CEO Adam Famularo said Tara can reduce manual handling of false-positive transaction alerts by more than 70% for many institutions, directly shrinking backlogs, expediting payment processing, and allowing investigators to focus on genuine risk. This efficiency gain also has revenue and customer experience implications, as fewer payment delays and operational bottlenecks can improve client satisfaction and strengthen resilience in high-volume payments environments.

The solution is already deployed at leading financial institutions and is designed to work across a wide range of message types, including SWIFT, ISO 20022, Fedwire, ACH, CHAPS, IAT, SEPA, and custom formats. Tara also aligns with multiple watchlists, such as those from OFAC, the U.N. Security Council, HM Treasury, and the FBI, and integrates with existing sanctions screening stacks.

Out-of-the-box connectors include Firco Continuity with Case Manager, LexisNexis Bridger XG 5, and OpenCorporates, with additional bespoke integrations available to fit incumbent infrastructures. For WorkFusion, the award validates its strategy of delivering purpose-built AI agents for Level 1 and 2 AML and sanctions functions, potentially accelerating adoption among banks looking to scale compliance operations while mitigating talent constraints, operational risk, and regulatory exposure.
