Webflow has appointed George Karamanos as its first Chief Legal Officer, elevating its legal and governance capabilities as the company pushes deeper into enterprise accounts and scales its AI-native web marketing platform. The move formalizes executive-level oversight of legal, risk, and compliance at a time when Webflow is expanding globally and positioning itself as a platform of record for large brands with complex requirements.
CEO Linda Tong framed the hire as critical to managing the rising complexity of enterprise-scale deployments and responsible use of AI, emphasizing Karamanos’s track record building legal functions to support high-velocity SaaS growth. Karamanos, who previously led legal organizations at Digimarc, DataRobot, ZipHQ, and Cisco’s AppDynamics, is expected to help accelerate enterprise adoption, strengthen governance frameworks, and balance speed with risk management discipline as Webflow serves more than 300,000 companies and over 2,000 certified partners worldwide.
