WeaveGrid Extends DISCO Platform to Home Batteries as Industry Recognition Builds

WeaveGrid featured prominently this week with a mix of strategic partnerships and growing third-party recognition in the grid-edge and EV managed charging space. The company announced a partnership with FranklinWH Energy Storage to integrate residential batteries into its DISCO platform, expanding from EV-only managed charging into broader distributed energy resource orchestration.

The FranklinWH integration enables utilities to dispatch individual home batteries based on local distribution constraints, such as overloaded transformers, strained feeders, or stressed substations. DISCO is being positioned as a single orchestration layer that co-optimizes EVs and residential storage, supporting both local transformer needs and system peak management while preserving customer experience.

For FranklinWH customers, the collaboration opens access to utility programs that can provide financial incentives for grid-supportive behavior without compromising home resilience. For WeaveGrid, it broadens the addressable market across the grid-edge ecosystem, potentially increasing recurring software and services revenue tied to flexible capacity and demand management.

WeaveGrid also highlighted the growing role of virtual power plants, noting that utilities are starting to view DER- and VPP-based solutions as core grid capacity rather than experimental pilots. Comments attributed to CEO Apoorv Bhargava emphasized that scaling VPPs will require aligned incentives, updated market rules, and delivery of localized, measurable, and dispatchable flexibility comparable to traditional infrastructure.

In parallel, consultancy Darcy Partners recognized WeaveGrid in two benchmark reports on residential EV managed charging and transportation electrification. The company was named among Darcy Partners’ “Top 10 Innovators in Transportation Electrification” and profiled as a key player in the transition from pilot programs to fully integrated grid solutions.

This third-party validation may reinforce WeaveGrid’s credibility with utilities, automakers, and ecosystem partners at a time when managed charging, DER orchestration, and VPPs are strategic focus areas. Overall, the week underscored WeaveGrid’s efforts to deepen its role as a vendor-agnostic grid orchestration platform and its growing visibility in the evolving transportation electrification and grid-modernization markets.
