Vital Lyfe has opened a 38,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in Torrance, Calif., using capital raised last year to establish its primary hub for production, engineering, and operations as it prepares to launch its first product this summer. The site is designed to enable high-rate manufacturing, in-house engineering development, reliability testing, and rapid product iteration, positioning the company to scale both U.S. and international supply.
CEO Jon Criss said the Torrance facility will build Vital Lyfe’s first-generation universal portable water filtration device, which is designed to convert seawater and many natural water sources into drinking water, with a production line targeting monthly output of more desalination units than exist globally today. COO Andrew Harner added that Vital Lyfe is accelerating hiring across engineering, sales, and production as it uses the Torrance base to support global market expansion and anchor its long-term production and innovation strategy, marking a shift into an execution-focused growth phase.
