Verkada is accelerating its international expansion with a new regional office in Dubai and the appointment of industry veteran Fred Crehan as Head of Middle East, positioning the company to capitalize on rising demand for AI-powered, cloud-based physical security across the region. The move marks Verkada’s first dedicated office in the Middle East, despite already serving global customers active there, and is aimed at supporting large-scale infrastructure, urban development, and security-focused initiatives in sectors such as government, hospitality, retail, logistics, construction, and real estate. Crehan, who previously launched the Dubai office and built a partner ecosystem for Confluent, is tasked with building a regional go-to-market platform and partner network to scale Verkada’s presence and revenue. Executive leadership highlights that the region’s rapid urban growth and security priorities align with Verkada’s integrated, cloud-managed platform, which spans video security, access control, environmental sensors, alarms, workplace solutions, and intercoms.
The Dubai office will initially focus on hiring sales engineering and leadership talent, signaling Verkada’s intent to build a local execution engine rather than rely solely on remote support. This Middle East expansion leverages the company’s recent growth financing from CapitalG, Alphabet’s independent growth fund, which valued Verkada at $5.8 billion and is earmarked to accelerate AI innovation and global market penetration. With more than 30,000 customers across 171 countries, Verkada is using this new capital and regional investment to deepen its footprint in high-growth geographies where cloud adoption is accelerating and legacy on-premise security systems are under pressure to modernize. For executives and stakeholders, the move indicates a targeted growth strategy focused on high-value infrastructure and security-conscious markets, with potential upside in recurring software revenue, larger multi-site deployments, and expanded partner-led channels throughout the Middle East.
