Vectra AI has launched a next-generation version of its flagship cybersecurity platform, positioning the company at the center of securing what it calls the emerging “AI enterprise” – always-on, highly connected environments where AI agents and non-human identities increasingly outnumber human users. The upgraded platform is designed to deliver three core outcomes across the AI attack lifecycle: preemptive security to reduce exposure before compromise, proactive defense to stop AI-powered attacks as they begin, and accelerated response to contain active threats at machine speed. CEO Hitesh Sheth said the shift to AI-driven, identity-centric networks has fundamentally changed cyber risk, requiring continuous visibility and AI-driven detection capable of matching attacker speed and scale.

The platform now provides unified observability across on-premises data centers, multi-cloud, identity systems, SaaS, IoT/OT, edge, and AI infrastructure by combining flow-level scale with packet-level context. This is intended to help security teams identify risky behaviors, trust relationships, and exposure paths before adversaries exploit them. A strategic focus of the release is the discovery, tracking, and behavior-based hunting of AI agents, which Vectra AI views as both critical enterprise identities and a growing toolset for attackers. The system prioritizes and correlates activity based on attack progression, enabling earlier disruption of lateral movement, while the Vectra AI Assistant allows analysts to run natural-language investigations and obtain immediate, contextual answers, reducing responder latency. Executives and security leaders should view this release as Vectra AI’s bid to redefine network detection and response for AI-era environments, potentially deepening its competitive moat in behavioral AI security and expanding its addressable market among enterprises accelerating AI adoption.
